Which would sometimes include carpet cleaning, strip and waxing floors, tile and grout cleaning and so on. I hated it. The biggest reason was quality control. It was so hard to hold the janitors accountable for the quality of their work. I need to be associated with quality and integrity. This is my personality. This is my nature. When your work doesn’t reflect your true nature I believe it creates an internal conflict. Do you know what I’m talking about? Ha! A lot of people do.
Anyway, when a client would ask for a price to get their carpets cleaned or strip their floors I would have to drive out, measure and get them a quote. I would then farm this work out and make nothing. So I started doing some side work at nights and weekends to learn how to do it myself. And I quickly realised that these guys didn’t care about quality either! Lol. So I studied and learned and asked questions and decided I could do a better job than the “professionals” that we were hiring.
